Introduction
It’s not surprising that more and more Americans are living longer, and that the older age groups such as the 75 year old range are starting to increase faster than ever. That’s good that people are living longer, but does that necessary mean that people live healthier? Not really, with the advancement of technology and science it has helped people overcome sickness that would kill people in the early 1900s that could easily be treated with a vaccine now-of-days.
If you plan to live long, then you might as well try and take better care of yourself because living a long and unhealthy life may not be too much fun, well at least in my opinion. Research constantly shoves in our face that people live and age a lot better with the addition of daily exercise. There are many of factors that can help an individual live longer such as social relationships for one.
Did you know that people that have weak social bonds such as single people have higher suicide rates than married couples? It may not be surprising, but depression is not good for the health because it releases Cortisol which is a stress hormone.
Having friendships and constantly laughing can help boost your health, maybe for a couple of years.
