Living it Up
Aging in doubt of in our society is not one of the worst things that can happen to an individual. An interesting study was conducted that included taking forty people over the age of sixty to talk about their experiences with aging. Surprisingly, a lot of the responses were very inspiring. Some of them thought that it was very important to think of a new hobby to acquire. Once you retire you need some challenging, vital, interest that you can pick up.
This is super important for people that have worked in a career for a long period of time. This is also important for people that look too forward to reaching retirement and suddenly find themselves bored once they reached it. It’s important to keep yourself occupied with challenging hobbies. So in an essence you will never be retired. However, it’s important to develop your interest early, while you’re on the edge of retirement because it will be a more successful transition.
For example, a businessman who occasionally enjoyed playing a little golf is a good example of this. Once you get the feel of liking golf than you can take it more seriously once you retire. If you think about it closely, a regular job takes up about 35 to 60 hours in a week and possibly more if you factor in other variables such as commuting. But if you’re retired then you have a lot of free time, or so you think? Planning your own schedule and activities will take some time getting use to, especially if you spent most of your time working for a corporation.
Of course if you find an activity or activities for that matter that you love and enjoy than there may seem like less time to enjoy them all.
